Scott Martin
Scott Martin was born on December 28, 1971, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School in 1991 and received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The University of Oklahoma in 1995. Martin won election to the Oklahoma House of Representatives from District 46 in 2006 and currently serves as Assistant Majority Whip. From 1995 to 1999 Martin worked for the City of Noble as Projects Director and Public Works
Director. From 1999 to 2006 he worked for the City of Norman as the Assistant to the City Manager. He continues active membership in the Norman, Noble and Newcastle Chambers of Commerce, Norman Business Association, Boy Scouts of America, National Rifle Association, OU Alumni Association, and United Way. Scott is an Eagle Scout, served as Student Body President at OU from 1994 to 1995, and is a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity; he is also a graduate of Leadership Norman class of 2000. Scott is also a graduate of the Army War College National Security Week and the COMMSTAR Program at Tinker Air Force Base. In 2007
Scott was selected as one of OKC Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty. He is married to the former Angie Berglan and they are the proud parents of one son, Luke. They attend Bethel Baptist Church in Norman, where Scott teaches Sunday School and is a Deacon.
Representative Martin is the Vice Chair of General Government and Transportation Committee and also serves on the Human Services Committee, Energy Subcommittee, and Arts and Culture Subcommittee.
